It's finally happening — D.C.'s best breakfast sandwich pop-up, I Egg You, is now a diner-style restaurant on Barracks Row. It opens on Saturday.
Why it matters: Chef Scott Drewno and Danny Lee's buttery egg sandwiches and loaded tots became a weekend fixation, but now they're available daily (plus a ton of new stuff).
Catch up quick: The egg-obsessed chefs first launched the concept as a pandemic pop-up three years ago out of Chiko Capitol Hill, melding Americana breakfast favorites with Chinese and Korean riffs (e.g. brown butter-fried egg sandwiches on Shilla Bakery milk bread).

I Egg You, launched as a pop-up shop by Fried Rice Collective owners Scott Drewno and Danny Lee in 2020, opens as a standalone, seven day a week dayside restaurant in D.C. on Saturday.
Drewno and Lee are the restaurateurs behind ChiKo and Anju.
I Egg You was originally a take-out and delivery experiment inside the Capitol Hill ChiKo for breakfast Saturdays and Sundays. The newly-built out restaurant, at 517 8th Street Southeast, will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
